*Isaac Newton was born on on Christmas Day, 25 December 1642.Newton was the greatest English mathematician of his generation.
*He is most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution.He is famous for discovering the Laws of Gravity
*Newton also made seminal contributions to optics, and shares credit with Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz for developing the infinitesimal calculus.
*Newton had been reluctant to publish his calculus because he feared controversy and criticism.
*Newton built the first practical reflecting telescope,today known as a Newtonian telescope.It was about eight inches long and it gave a clearer and larger image.
*He was knighted by Queen Anne in 1705.Newton was the second scientist to be knighted, after Francis Bacon.
*The mathematician Joseph-Louis Lagrange said that Newton was the greatest genius who ever lived, and once added that Newton was also "the most fortunate, for we cannot find more than once a system of the world to establish".
