United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution
66/170 on December 11, 2011, to declare October 11 as the International Day of
the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the challenges girls face around
the world
NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY
India celebrates National Girl Child Day each year
on the 24th of January.
The ministry of women and child development
initiative celebrates the day with Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign to
generate awareness on the importance of girl education, health, and nutrition.
All girls are entitled to the right to a safe, healthy and educated life. It's the
responsibility of Parents, Society, and the Government to equip them with the
required skill sets and tools to achieve success in their endeavors.

SRISHTI GOSWAMI
On January 24,2021, the
19-year-old Srishti Goswami, currently serving the post of Chief Minister of
Uttarakhand's Bal Vidhan Sabha, became the One-day Chief Minister of
Uttarakhand to review various schemes run by the Haryana government.
She has been working with the Aarambh India campaign to promote education and to address the issues of poor children's.

1. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
To eliminate female foeticide and to promote education for girl children.

3. SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan)
For girl child education and to increase in the Gender Parity Index (GPI).
4. The National literacy Mission or Saakshar Bharat
Saakshar Bharat is the centrally sponsored nation-wide literacy scheme of the Indian Department for School Education and Literacy (DSEL) focusing on increasing women´s literacy in India
Educating women on health care. It has resulted in the decline in fertility rates, Maternal mortality rates (MMR), Infant mortality rates (IMR).
6. SHG (Self Help Groups)
For economic development in women by giving micro finances.
Self Help Groups (SHGs) are a homogenous group of 10-20 individuals who come together for saving and internally helping each other in times of need.
7. NMEW (National Mission for Empowerment of Women)
To ensure economic & social empowerment of women.
8. Swayamsidha scheme
To ensures total development of women.

Kishori Shakti Yojana (KSY) seeks to empower adolescent girls, so as to enable them to take charge of their lives. It is viewed as a holistic initiative for the development of adolescent girls. The programme through its interventions aims at bringing about a difference in the lives of the adolescent girls. It seeks to provide them with an opportunity to realize their full potential.
